Showcase: The photographers who caught our eye this week

Meet Vinh Mangalino

The automotive landscape is littered with talented photographers, each with their own style.

This series offers a look at some of the snappers who have caught our attention with their work. This week, it's Vinh Mangalino.

He's a 23 year-old from Melbourne, Australia, with a passion for cars. That will become clear when you see his work, of course.

Below is a sample of his work, along with some information about how he got the shot.

"This photo was taken from a cherry-picker extended 15 metres above the ground, borrowed from the neighbours! These five wide-body Porsche 911s were hand-crafted by a man named Akira Nakai San of Rauh-Welt Begriff.

Three of them were imported from New Zealand, one is from Queensland and two are based in Melbourne."

"This action shot was photographed at a quarry in Victoria. It was an advertising campaign for a brake manufacturing company, in collaboration with Prestige Auto Works. We had heaps of fun drifting around on the dirt all day!"

"I used a technique called light painting to make this shot of the NSX and Civic Type R happen.

I won't go into detail, but it took a lot of work to get the shot – work that was worth it, I think!"

"I travelled to Sydney for the 2014 Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge with my pals at Carbon Plus.

We were there to show off the menacing, freshly-built Rocket Bunny v2 GT-R. Looks mean!"

"I decided to take this photograph during an (early) winter morning up in the forests of Mount Donna Buang.

We were originally hoping to get snow in the shoot, but it had all melted when we got there. Luckily the fog was there to make things a bit more interesting!"
