Mercedes-Benz GLC, S-Class, C-Class and E-Class Coupe recalled

Seatbelt fix forces another recall for the three-pointed star

Mercedes-Benz has recalled 944 cars over concerns the propellant mix in the front seatbelt tensioner may not meet specifications.

According to the company, the issue could mean the front seatbelt tensioners don't deploy in an accident, putting occupants at greater risk of injury in an accident.

A total of 944 cars across the GLC, S-Class, C-Class and E-Class Coupe lines is affected by the recall – a list of VIN numbers is attached.

Vehicles in the campaign were built between August 1, 2016 and February 27, 2017.

Mercedes-Benz says owners of these vehicles should contact their nearest dealer for a seatbelt replacement.
