Toyota Supra race car confirmed for Geneva
Concept to be revealed on March 6
The Toyota Supra will be previewed at the Geneva motor show next month, in the form of a "modern racing concept".
Partially shown in a single shadowy image, the company says the car will "signal Toyota's commitment to bring back to the market its most iconic sports car".
While the accompanying release doesn't explicitly say 'Supra', it's the first official confirmation from the Japanese automotive giant that its upcoming sports car flagship – which will have a lot in common with the next-generation BMW Z4 – will revive the iconic nameplate.
In term of styling, the Supra will draw inspiration from the 2014 FT-1 concept. It's expected to be powered by a choice of a turbocharged six-cylinder engine or hybrid drivetrain.
