Renault Zoe to get power bump in Geneva – report

Boosted supermini bound for Switzerland?

An updated Renault Zoe is expected to debut at the Geneva motor show next month, complete with a slight power bump.

In a new report by Autocar, an unnamed source says the new Zoe 'R110' will get an 80kW electric motor – up from the current 68kW – though it's unclear whether the current 250-mile (402km) range claim will be boosted too.

The article also specifies the new Zoe's powertrain will be available in the current version's mid- and high-tier trim grades in the UK, meaning Dynamic Nav and Signature Nav variants and a likely starting price of around £19,000 ($33,630).

Standard kit is said to include 16-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry and start, along with automatic headlights and wipers.

European sales of the current Zoe totalled 30,134 in 2017 – an increase of 8894 over the previous year.

Australia

Last September, Renault's local division confirmed it would bring the Zoe and Kangoo EVs Down Under, with the electric light hatch to kick off at $44,470 plus on-road costs for the entry-level 'Life' grade.

However, the company never confirmed exactly when the Zoe would make its way to Australia, meaning we could potentially get the updated version following its debut in Geneva.
