2020 Mercedes-Benz S-Class spied
New look for fresh flagship Benz
The 2020 Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been snapped for the first time, offering a (heavily camouflaged) glimpse at the next flagship to wear the three-pointed star.
According to our spy photographer, the prototype you see here was travelling in convoy with a group of current-generation S-Classes, along with an Audi A8 and BMW 7 Series.
This particular car clearly a very early development mule – it isn't even registered on the road at this point – and as such, it's very heavily camouflaged. Expect to see a new grille up front, along with slimmer headlights in keeping with the new 'face' spreading across the range at the moment.
Down back, the roofline appears to slope more aggressively than the current model, with a slightly less droopy caboose to boot.
Given how early it is, details about potential powertrains are yet to be confirmed. In fact, there's not even much speculation flying around at the moment but, given the current model is offered in plug-in hybrid, petrol and diesel configurations, you can expect to see a similar range offered. An all-electric model is also a possibility.
