2018 Mazda 6 wagon facelift unveiled ahead of Geneva

Same good looks as the sedan, now featuring more space

UPDATEMazda has confirmed the turbo-petrol engine from the sedan will be offered in the wagon. The copy has been tweaked to reflect that. Get excited, wagon fans.

The updated Mazda 6 wagon has been revealed ahead of a full debut at the Geneva motor show in March.

Up front, the face-lifted wagon adopts the look debuted on the 6 sedan in November 2017. It gets a new grille, headlamps and fascia at the front, while the rear... actually, there are no photos of the rear yet.

We'd suggest it'll run with new taillight graphics and a tweaked bumper compared to the current car.

On the inside, the revised wagon gains the sedan's redesigned dashboard, as well as its new seats. Other changes include reduced road noise, tweaked handling, a surround-view camera system, and radar-guided cruise control with stop/go ability.

With the Geneva motor show still a month away, Mazda hasn't revealed all the details about the updated 6 wagon. We do know, however, the engine lineup will mirror that of the sedan. That means the 2.5-litre Skyactiv-G engine from the CX-9 will be offered here, making 170kW and 420Nm of torque.

Who's keen for a turbo wagon? We certainly are!

Other cars on Mazda's stand in Geneva will include the updated Mazda 6 sedan, the Vision Coupe and Kai Concept.

The company will also have its SkyActiv-X compression ignition petrol engine on display.
