2018 Ford Ranger Raptor teased

Looks tough, even with all that camouflage

Ford has teased the hotly-anticipated Ranger Raptor again, ahead of its full debut on February 7.

As with previous teasers, there's no new information about what will power the high-riding Ranger.

Instead, we've been treated to footage of the Ford tackling dusty trails, river crossings, rocky climbs and, as you might expect, jumps.

Just in case you weren't sure, the Raptor will be able to handle jumps – thank a Watts linkage suspension setup (rather than the standard leaf springs) for that.

Expect to see a whopping 245mm of ground clearance and BF Goodrich 285/70R17 tyres, both aimed at delivering crushing off-road ability in a similar vein to the F-150 Raptor offered in the USA.

Although Ford hasn't announced full powertrain details, the we're expecting to see a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine mated to a ten-speed automatic gearbox, co-developed with GM.

That means the car is likely to trail the Volkswagen Amarok V6 and Mercedes-Benz X-Class in the outright power stakes.

Check out the teaser below, and stay tuned to CarAdvice for all the latest Raptor news in the lead up to February 7.
