HSV: SportsCat, Camaro and Silverado pricing revealed

2018 range to kick off from $65,000

Pricing for HSV's 2018 range has been revealed on a dealer website, showing prices for the SportsCat, SportsCat+, Camaro and Silverado.

The range kicks off from $65,000 for the entry-level HSV SportsCat, which is based on the Holden Colorado Z71.

As we reported late last year, the HSV SportsCat will feature a design that veers away from the current Colorado Z71 offering, but will carryover the same engine and power outputs.

"The extra-tough stance is delivered immediately by an increased ride height, widened tracks and wider hybrid Cooper tyres. Then there’s a front end that masterfully integrates major design revisions – new one-piece (rather than split) grille, restyled lower bumper with LED fog-lights, forged red tow hooks, and a bash plate," said Jez Spinks of the HSV SportsCat during our first drive.

Things step up a notch with the HSV SportsCat+ both in terms of pricing and equipment. The SportsCat+ will start at $72,000, serving as the flagship of HSV's ute offering.

"The SportsCat+ guise takes aggression a step up, with a honeycomb air intake which, to our eyes, looks like someone took a magnifying glass to a Golf GTI grille, “rugged” wheel-arch surrounds, and a matte-black Sail Plane on the hard tonneau instead of an alloy sports bar."

"The HSV-badged Colorado’s quick-release hard tonneau incorporates rails for securing lifestyle items such as bikes (the tray’s inner rails can also be used), and an 'Ezy-down' strut facilitates soft lowering of the tailgate," said Spinks during our first drive of the SportsCat+.

The big price hike for the SportsCat+ brings with it a meaty set of AP Racing brakes that measure 362mm at the front with four-piston calipers — some 62mm larger than the standard Colorado.

Sports car fans will likely be flocking to the Chevrolet Camaro SS (below), which is the brand's only petrol V8 offering.

Converted by HSV from left-hand to right-hand drive locally, the Camaro SS will be priced from $90,000. The Camaro SS is a car that competes with the Mustang GT in the US and will be priced around $30,000 more than its Blue Oval rival (which is priced from $57,490 before on-road costs) in Australia after conversion.

Finally, the monstrous Chevrolet Silverado, which will also be converted by HSV locally, will be priced from $130,000.

The big pick-up truck recently received an update in the US. The same styling changes are expected to be seen on the Australian-delivered Silverado when it lands later this year.

It's unclear whether the prices listed by the Holden dealer include on-road costs. CarAdvice has contacted HSV for comment.
