2019 Mercedes-Benz GLB spied

The Mercedes-Benz GLB has been spied undergoing testing in Sweden.

Based on the same front- and all-wheel drive platform as the upcoming A-Class hatchback, the GLB looks to be a larger and more rugged-looking companion to the GLA.

Thanks to the car's extensive camouflage and plethora of false body panels, especially on the bonnet and around the rear, we can't make out too many of the crossover's styling details.

While the next-generation GLA, which was last spotted around this time last year, sticks with its elevated hatchback design, the GLB features a more upright front end, and slab-sided design.

It's possible the GLB will take some of its design cues from the next-generation G-Class.

Being based on the A-Class, we expect the GLB to feature a selection of turbocharged four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines.

The photographers from the spy agency also managed to grab a snap of the car's interior, but there are sheets and tape covering almost everything. It's probably safe to assume the GLB's interior will take a lot of inspiration from the upcoming A-Class'.

Revealed late last year, the new A-Class' interior features two large high-resolution screens on the dashboard, circular vents, extensive use of leather and metal, and a scaling back on the number of buttons on the dashboard.
