LDV D90 scores five stars in ANCAP crash safety testing

The 2018 LDV D90 has been awarded five stars in the latest round of crash safety testing carried out by the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP), following in the footsteps of the related T60 Ute.

It scored 14.05 out of 16 for the frontal offset test, and a perfect 16 for the side impact test. It also achieved a perfect score for the pole test, for a total 35.05 out of 37.

"The LDV T60 set our safety benchmark with its five-star ANCAP safety rating and, with the D90, LDV has proven that the highest safety rating is now LDV’s minimum standard for new vehicles launched in Australia,” said Dinesh Chinnappa, general manager of LDV Australia.

"The D90 not only meets the stringent criteria set by ANCAP for the 5 star rating, with technology such as road sign recognition, it reveals the next generation of road safety features."

"Drawing on the resources of one of the world’s largest car makers, LDV’s parent SAIC, as well as its own design and engineering prowess, LDV is producing a new generation of vehicles, heralded by the T60 and confirmed by the D90, that offer 5 star safety with value, technology, advanced connectivity, impressive features and comfort."

The D90 joins the Jaguar F-Pace, Holden Equinox and Jeep Compass among the ranks of SUVs to recently achieve the maximum five star rating.

NOTE: LDV's Australian distributor, Ateco, has not made the D90 available to the media for assessment. As a result, we cannot recommend this vehicle. You can visit our Top 5 pages here.
