Lexus LF-1 Limitless concept teased ahead of Detroit debut

The Lexus LF-1 Limitless concept has been teased, ahead of its debut at the 2018 Detroit motor show in January.

Given its unveiling is a month away, Lexus isn't particularly forthcoming with detail about the LF-1 Limitless, except that it is a "flagship crossover that redefines the boundaries of luxury", and "reflects the next genre in luxury crossover vehicles".

From the teaser image the company has released, the LF-1 Limitless looks to be a "coupe SUV" with a raked tailgate and entertainment screens mounted on the back of the front seats.

It also seems to showcase the brand's latest styling direction, debuted on the LC coupe and LS sedan, and embraces more organic and flowing shapes, as well as eye-grabbing details.

Given the blue backlighting for the Lexus badge, it's more than likely the LF-1 Limitless will feature a hybrid drivetrain of some description, probably a development of the Multi-Stage hybrid setup used in the LC500h and LS500h.

If the LF-1 Limitless does go into production, it could see Lexus step up to the plate for the first time against the likes of the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe.
