Tesla Semi teased ahead of November 16 reveal

The Tesla Semi has been teased in media invitations to its official reveal on November 16.

Sent to American publications ahead of the unveiling event in Hawthorne, California, the image is a shadowy teaser of the new electric semi-trailer, which reportedly is now being referred to the 'Tesla Truck' rather than 'Tesla Semi'.

Whatever the final name is, few details are about the electric load hauler are available, though Electrek reports that Tesla is hinting at a few 'record-breaking specs' in terms of torque and handling.

It's expected that the vehicle to be revealed on November 16 is still a prototype, though the company has expressed its intentions to put the electric truck into volume production within a few years.

This latest news comes after a photo believed to be of the Tesla Semi surfaced online last month (above), with the futuristic-looking truck sitting on the flatbed of a conventionally-powered semi trailer - ironic, right?

A recent report by Reuters says the electric truck will also be equipped with autonomous driving systems and have a range between 320 and 480 kilometres (200-300mi).
