Gemballa GT Concept: 609kW 911 Turbo revealed at SEMA

Along with its dramatic new bodywork, the 911 Turbo-based GT Concept has been treated to a comprehensive engine overhaul for outputs of 609kW and 952Nm.

The new body add-ons, which include a front skirt, splitter, rear bumper and rear diffuser, are all made of carbon-fibre. Flared fenders mean the front of the car is 30mm wider at the front and 50mm wider at the rear, leaving room for a set of 21-inch forged alloy wheels.

Hiding behind those wheels are Brembo brakes measuring 380mm at the front and 360mm at the rear, grabbed by six- and four-pot calipers respectively.

But the most dramatic upgrades are found in the rear of the car, where the standard 911 Turbo engine has been treated to new intake manifolds, cylinder heads, valves, air filters, connecting rods, turbochargers and a revised ECU, for  the aforementioned outputs of 609kW and 952Nm.

The 0-100km/h sprint takes just 2.4 seconds, and the car will keep pulling to over 360km/h. Gemballa doesn't make slow cars, but the GT Concept promises to take things to another level.

Inside, the GT Concept has been outfitted with bucket seats and a roll-bar trimmed in Alcantara, while the floor mats are finished with Gemballa embroidery. The interior changes sound relatively minimal, but the performance on offer means that isn't likely to be a concern.

Although it has the word 'concept' in its name, the GT is designed as a showcase for what can be done when buyers combine its various individualisation packages.
