Hennessey Venom F5 to debut at SEMA

The Hennessey Venom F5 is set to be officially unveiled at the 2017 SEMA show in Las Vegas on November 1.

Succeeding the manic 1082kW Venom GT - which has a verified top speed of 435km/h - the Venom F5 is named after the most lethal category of tornado, and is set to chase a new speed record.

We first saw official renderings (below) of the Texan hypercar in 2014, along with claims that the F5 will attempt to achieve a Bugatti-beating top speed of 467km/h (290mph) – which would make it the fastest production car in the world.

The company hasn't revealed official power and torque figures yet, but the Venom F5 will feature a longitudinally-mounted twin-turbo V8, sending drive to the rear wheels via a single-clutch paddle-shift automatic transmission that the company promises will provide quicker shift times than a conventional H-pattern manual.

Back in 2015, Hennessey said it would produce at least 30 F5s at its Texas facility. In terms of pricing, the F5 will almost certainly command a premium over the US$1.2 million ($1.53 million) Venom GT.
