2016-17 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, S-Class, GLC recalled for seatbelt fix

Mercedes-Benz has issued a recall for 306 vehicles across its C-Class, S-Class and GLC model lines over concerns the seatbelt pretensioners may not deploy correctly.

The German marque reports that affected models may have an incorrect propellant mixing ratio in the passenger seatbelt pretensioners, which could cause them to not deploy as intended.

If the condition occurs, this poses an increased risk of injury to occupants in the event of an accident.

Affected C-Class, S-Class and GLC vehicles were sold from 30 September 2016 through 30 January 2017. The VIN list for these units can be viewed here.

Owners of the recalled Mercedes-Benz models are advised to contact their local dealer to arrange the inspection and repair of their vehicle.
