2018 Subaru Impreza pricing and specs

Tech updates headline model-year changes

The 2018 Subaru Impreza is in showrooms now, with the Japanese brand's small hatch and sedan gaining some added equipment in the higher-spec versions.

There are no cosmetic changes, but the EyeSight forward camera safety system in the Subaru Impreza hatch and sedan models has been upgraded as part of the 2018 model year run. The system's features include forward collision alert, autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.

The entry-level 2.0i model misses out again, but the 2.0i-L, 2.0i-P and 2.0i-S all now have EyeSight with the addition of lane-keeping assistance, which can read the lines on the road using that camera system and then take action to keep the vehicle in its lane.

The flagship 2.0i-S also now mirrors the Subaru XV range, with the addition of reverse automatic braking, which will apply the brakes if the system detects an obstacle behind the car. Neat tech, and it only comes at a small price premium over the existing range-topper.
