2018 Renault Captur pricing and specs

Facelifted French crossover arrives Down Under from $23,990

The refreshed 2018 Renault Captur range has hit Australian showrooms, bringing a raft of cosmetic and equipment upgrades to the little French SUV.

Kicking off at $23,990 drive-away, the new Captur features a revised model range, with entry-level Zen and top-spec Intens names aligning with the Clio, Megane and Koleos line-ups.

The base Zen is available with a six-speed manual as standard, or Renault's six-speed 'EDC' dual-clutch transmission ($26,990 drive-away). Equipment highlights include new C-shaped LED daytime-running lights, rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, along with Bluetooth connectivity.

Other features include electric side mirrors with auto folding, washable and removable seat covers, ivory interior trim for the centre console surround, and 16-inch 'Discover' alloy wheels.

Stepping up to the Intens grade (pictured) asks for $30,990 drive-away and is EDC only. The flagship variant adds a suite of comfort and technology features like hands-free parking, blind spot monitoring, 'extended grip control' driving modes, a fixed panoramic sunroof, charcoal leather trim, R-Link enhanced 7.0-inch satellite navigation system, LED headlights and fog-lights, along with front and side parking sensors.

There's also new tail-lights with C-shaped three-dimensional optics, which give the rear a new signature look, along with an Arkamys 3D sound system with digital radio, 17-inch two-tone 'Emotion' alloys, and lashings of chrome throughout the exterior. Other distinguishing features include front and rear faux skid-plates, a chrome front grille and boot lid strip, and privacy glass.

Additionally, buyers can specify the Intens with a Bose premium sound system as a cost option.

Engine have been carried over, with the Zen manual powered by 66kW/135Nm 900cc turbo petrol, while the EDC-equipped Zen and Intens models feature an 88kW/190Nm 1.2-litre turbo petrol.

Like the pre-update model, the Captur is available with a range of colour option packs to personalise to buyer tastes, which are applied to various elements like the air registers, speaker surrounds and centre console. The Intens takes this a step further by allowing the front chrome strip and alloy wheel centre caps to be specified in matching colours.

The packs are available in Ocean Blue, Flame Red and Atacama Orange. Additionally, there's a number of two-tone exterior paint schemes.

Like the wider Renault range, the Captur is offered with the company's five year, unlimited kilometre warranty, five years roadside assistance, and three years of capped-price servicing (or 90,000km, whichever comes first). Each of the first three maintenance visits are priced at $299.
