The images by LiveDoor Blog show changes to the current generation Prado that include a redesigned front end, new headlights, bumper bar, bonnet and grille, while the rear is also expected to receive a minor makeover.
These images join pictures leaked earlier in the year from a Toyota brochure that show the changes in greater detail.
We don't expect there to be a great deal of change on the engine front, with Toyota expected to retain the current 2.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 130kW of power and 450Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox or six-speed manual.
Toyota is also expected to keep the 4.0-litre naturally aspirated six-cylinder petrol engine that produces 207kW of power and 381Nm of torque, also mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox.
We understand Toyota has been working on active safety technology, which includes things like autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and pedestrian impact technology. It would make sense for this technology to roll out first with the Landcruiser Prado and to be followed by the bigger Landcruiser brother and then the HiLux.
While it has been quiet on the news front, we also expect the Landcruiser 200 series to receive an update this year, likely in the powertrain department.
