Mercedes-Benz has released its 2010 Sprinter and Vito light commercial vehicle ranges with improvements focusing on safety, performance and fuel economy.
The Sprinter gets the most substantial upgrades with all three engines now Euro 5 compliant, making it Australia’s first van to meet the emissions standard.
Four-cylinder Sprinter models are now equipped with a six-speed manual transmission which helps achieve lower engine speeds and better fuel consumption figures. Improving economy further is the addition of BlueEFFICIENCY measures including demand-controlled ancillary units and Start/Stop technology.
Available for the first time in Australia is the Sprinter NGT (Natural Gas Technology). The 316 NGT comes as a medium- and long-wheel base van and a LWB chassis, while the 516 NGT is available only as a LWB single cab-chassis.
A front passenger airbag and adaptive brake lights which flash in an emergency are now standard on all Sprinter models.
The 2010 Vito also gains a passenger-side airbag across the range as well as a 3.5mm auxiliary interface socket in the glovebox for multimedia devices.
Pricing for the Vito ranges from $39,990 for the 109CDI Compact to $59,490 for the 115CDI Long.
New 2010 Sprinters begin at $46,490 for the 316CDI MWB and rise to $76,990 for the 316 Transfer 12.
Pricing is the Manufacturer’s List Price and includes GST and any applicable LCT but excludes dealer delivery and all on road costs. For drive away price information, consumers should contact dealers.
