Today, the company has handed down details that confirm the veracity of our June story, based off a leaked dealer bulletin obtained by a CarAdvice reader.
Full range details are still to come, but today's release confirms the entry model in the 3.3-litre line - the Stinger S - will pack solid value.
Standard kit for the Stinger S will include 18-inch wheels shod with 225/45R18 Continental ContiSport Contact 5 rubber, which means we could see four-cylinder models open with either the same hoops or a smaller design.
Kia's release today lists safety kit ahead of comfort and convenience features, declaring this a "primary concern" for the brand and buyers - although autonomous emergency braking is not among the items listed.
The $48,990 S model's safety features include seven airbags, anti-lock braking with emergency brakeforce distribution and brake assist, Electronic Stability Control and traction control, Vehicle Stability Management, hill assist, rear view camera with dynamic parking guidelines, rear cross traffic alert, active hood pedestrian protection, LED daylight running lights and three child restraint points (two ISOFIX).
Other features include eight-way powered adjustment for the driver's seat and six-way adjustment for the front passenger's seat, with all trimmed in artificial leather.
Also standard for the S model are cruise control with steering-mounted controls, a 3.5-inch instrument display and a 7.0-inch main dash display, six speakers, two 12V power points and two USB points. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also included for free.
The $55,990 Si steps up the style and performance with 19-inch alloys wrapped in a staggered 225/40R front and 255/35R19 rear tyre arrangement.
Safety is also improved in the Si, gaining Advanced Smart Cruise Control and Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) with Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Driver Attention Alert, front parking sensors, and rain-sensing wipers.
The Si also gets an 8.0-inch display with nine speakers, including two under-seat woofers and "active sound design".
And, while the S gets four cup holders, four bottle holders, centre console storage box and front seat pockets, the Si gets those and an under-floor luggage tray and net in the boot.
The $59,990 hero GT model gets a 360-degree camera view, Blind Spot Detection, Dynamic Bending Lights, High Beam Assist and full-colour Heads Up Display (HUD).
On the outside, the GT also adds electrochromatic door mirrors, LED headlights, a powered sunroof, a flat-bottomed 'D-cut' steering wheel and a pair of colours unique to the GT: Aurora Black and Snow White Pearl.
The instrument panel display sizes up to a 7.0-inch unit, and there's also alloy sports pedals and suede trim for the interior roof and pillar trims.
Seating in the GT is upgraded to Nappa leather with GT logos, along with lumbar support, powered bolster adjustment and a thigh support extender. Two-position seat memory is also featured.
Finally, the GT also gets a premium 15-speaker Harman/Kardon audio system, which is made up of eight speakers, four tweeters, a centre speaker and two subwoofers powered by an external amplifier.
