Supercheap Auto and Bosch develop AutoCrew service network

Retailer Supercheap Auto and engineering company Bosch are teaming up to build a network of service centres around Australian under the newly-developed AutoCrew brand.

It is seemingly the next logical step for Supercheap Auto, the region's biggest specialist automotive retailer, which has been dabbling in the field of service for a few years now. Its most recent store upgrade (pictured in this article) saw it push hard on that strategy.

Customers have long been able to get their wiper blades fitted to the car, for instance, but this new deal should see the AutoCrew team get much more hands-on with customer vehicles.

The partnership is said to "combine Supercheap Auto’s extensive retail footprint and customer knowledge together with Bosch’s leading diagnostic and workshop technologies", and the full service workshops will initially be rolled out in the Greater Sydney area.

Bosch is no small-fry - it's the world's leading provider of automotive parts and components, playing a large role in hybrid tech, electronic stability control systems and satellite-navigation systems.

The first store will open early in 2018, with customers said to be able to take advantage of Bosch parts and equipment, not to mention the German company's plug-and-play monitoring tech.

The tech side of things will see the first 'connected workshop' data sharing system and online bookings, which the company says will offer "a new standard of efficient and reliable auto services for today’s time-poor, convenience-focused customer".

"In past years, we have seen strong growth across our fitment and solutions offering, and see a clear trend towards customers expecting more when it comes to servicing their cars," said Chris Wilesmith, Supercheap Auto managing director.

"The diagnostic and digital components of cars today demand technology solutions often not commonly available in your average workshop – and at the same time, customers feel there should be a better solution than having to change their own wiper blades and that should come at a fair price."
