2018 BMW M5 leaked

The all-new F90 generation 2018 BMW M5 has been leaked in a video post by a Chinese website.

The leaked video - more an assembled slideshow of images with some drum and bass in the background - shows the final design of the halo performance sedan from BMW, including interior, infotainment, exterior and detail images of the car.

It is clear from the images that the new M5 is typical in its execution, with more aggressive styling and aerodynamics including huge air intakes, vents in the front guards, larger wheels, new side mirrors, a new rear diffuser with quad exhaust tips and a small boot-mounted deck-lid spoiler.

We know that under the bonnet there'll be a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with about 445kW of power, which is available with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission with paddles.

There'll be a few different drive modes for the new all-wheel-drive M5, including 4WD Sport mode that will send the majority of grunt to the rear wheels and use the fronts when required, while the 2WD mode allows the driver to lock it in rear-drive... doriffftooo!

That all-wheel-drive system and huge-output twin-turbo engine will apparently give the M5 a 0-60mph time of 3.2 seconds (the 0-100km/h time may be a little higher).

The full reveal and all the concrete details will be announced in the coming days (Wednesday 23 Aug Aussie time). Stay tuned!

It's expected the new-generation BMW M5 will go on sale here early in 2018. Click the Photos tab above for a few more grabs from the video.
