2019 Hyundai Veloster N spied with less camouflage

The new Hyundai Veloster N has been photographed undergoing evaluation on and around the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

Compared to the last prototype, spied back in June, this latest prototype has shed the heavy car bra-style coverings at the front and rear.

As such, we can see the shape of the second-generation Veloster's grille and headlights for the first time. Like the current car, the new Veloster has one large door on the driver's side, and two smaller doors on the other side.

The N version pictured here features front and rear bumpers with large vents, as well as a large rear wing, a front chin spoiler, rear diffuser, red contrast trim, two large exhaust outlets, red brake callipers, large alloy wheels, low profile rubber, and hunkered down suspension.

Motivation will likely come from the same 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine being used in the i30 N, although tune and trim may differ.

The standard i30 N has 184kW of power and 353Nm of torque at its disposal, while the Performance Package upgrades the motor to 202kW/353Nm.

At present the only transmission offered in the i30 N is a six-speed manual, although an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox is due to become available from 2019.
