2018 Audi Q8 spied almost completely undisguised

The upcoming Audi Q8 has been spotted almost disguise-free on a highway in Europe.

The photo was taken by user Beckervdo and posted on the forums of AutoPareri.

Although the car was only photographed from behind, and there's black tape disguising the tailgate's portion of the tail-lights, it's clear the production Q8 will be eerily similar to the concept car.

Changes from the concept include altered tail-light graphics, proper door handles, and larger wing mirrors. The concept's frameless windows and sporty silhouette remain.

The Q8 was last spotted by our spy photography agency in May. Those photos taken at and around the Nurburgring Nordschleife revealed the new SUV's interior for the first time.

Like the recently unveiled fourth-generation A8, the Q8 will feature two high-resolution touchscreens, capacitive buttons, and a greatly reduced quantity of physical buttons.

Under the skin, the Q8 will use the MLB Evo front- and all-wheel drive platform for cars with longitudinal engines. As such, the Q8 will share a lot in common with the Audi Q7, and Bentley Bentayga.

In time, the platform will also be used for the Lamborghini Urus, and the next-generation Volkswagen Touareg and Porsche Cayenne.

With the Q8 already pounding the pavement practically without disguise, it's likely the SUV will debut by the Frankfurt motor show in September.
