In electric vehicle news, Mini three-door electric hatch is confirmed for 2019 production, a Toyota EV with solid state batteries is planned for 2022, the Nissan Leaf is hoped to be a new Australian image builder, and the UK is to ban petrol/diesel cars by the time we will be very old - 2040.

Mike Costello attends the Honda CR-V launch in Canberra, and James Wong heads to Darwin.
