Jeep Renegade gets a Comanche ute makeover in the US

A 2015 Jeep Renegade that was converted into a ute and badged 'Comanche', was recently for sale on eBay in the US.

The one-off ute topped the bidding at US$32,000 ($40,387) with reserve not met, though American company, Boar Customs, has announced it will build more in limited numbers.

Drawing inspiration from the 2016 Jeep Renegade 'Comanche' Concept (above), this build features 'Kevlar' tan paint and black interior trim, with the four-wheel-drive ute powered by a stock a 2.4-litre engine and automatic transmission. It seems it has been run in as well, with 16,800 miles reading on the odometer.

It has been constructed using steel tubing and body panels, and the rear window is out of a Ford Ranger.

Around the back, a custom rear bumper was fabricated, and the Renegade's tail lights have been repurposed. A custom spare tyre compartment has also been built into the tray.

With a 1.5-inch lift and Toyo Open County AT tyres wrapped around custom rims, the listing says it is bound to turn heads.

"Get ready to be stopped everywhere you go for pictures. You will not see another one like this on the road." (Until they build more...)

Unfortunately, it would be hard to get this bad boy to Australia, which means you may need to wait for the Jeep Wrangler ute which is expected to be available for overseas markets in 2019.
