Audi Foundation kicks off with R8 supercar raffle

In an effort to help give back to the communities where Audi Australia currently operates, and likely also as something of a brand-building project, the Australian arm has launched a not-for-profit foundation with a specific focus on maximising the success of charitable donations.

The launch of the foundation marks a big milestone for Audi Australia, which has been operating locally as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Audi AG since 2004.

"We have been long considering what Audi’s contribution to community should be and the Audi Foundation is the result," said Thomas Keenan, head of the Audi Foundation.

"Since 2004, the communities in which we operate have supported the growth of Audi Australia Pty Ltd our business, helping us to get to where we are today, and we are now in the position to repay that support through philanthropy."

The Audi Foundation will aim to provide significant long-term support to the registered charities with deductible gift recipient status it supports.

Research conducted by the Audi Foundation and Flinders University found that small, short-term funding models have a negative impact on the effectiveness of the not-for-profit sector. And, as a result, the Audi Foundation aims to support its charities by providing longer-term support.

As part of the Audi Foundation launch, a raffle is being conducted that gives entrants a chance to win an Audi R8 V10 plus worth over $400,000.

You can enter the raffle conducted by the Audi Foundation here.

At launch, the Audi Foundation will support programs run by the Country Education Foundation Australia (CEFA), The Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR), ReachOut.com and The Smith Family.
