2018 Audi A8 interior and exterior teased in video

The exterior and interior of the new Audi A8 has been partially revealed in a new teaser video.

The video (above) highlights the flagship sedan's automated remote parking feature, and gives us a glimpse of the A8's tail-light design, side detailing, nose, and parts of the interior.

As we've seen in earlier spy photos, the new A8 is heavily inspired by the Prologue series of concept vehicles.

The new A8 is the first production car to be fully developed under the watch of Marc Lichte, Audi’s head of design. He has promised to give the luxury car maker's future models more personality and differentiation.

Earlier this month, the company revealed the new A8 will be fitted with a 48V mild hybrid system as standard, and will be able to coast with the primary engine off at speeds between 30 and 160km/h.

In time, this setup will appear in other models in the Audi range, including the next-generation A6 and A7.

The mild hybrid setup is expected to be paired to selection of V6, V8 and W12 petrol engines, and V6 and V8 turbo-diesels.

Underpinning the next-generation A8 will be the Volkswagen Group's MLB Evo component set for front- and all-wheel drive vehicles with longitudinal engines.

The new A8 will have a space frame body using a mix of high-strength steel, aluminium, magnesium and carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic. Despite that, the company says the next-generation A8's body will actually weigh 50kg more than today's car.

The fourth-generation A8 will be unveiled on July 11, European time.
