Infiniti FX Limited Edition released in Europe

If you thought the standard Infiniti FX SUV looked like a shiny version of Jabba the Hut, then you’ll probably agree the new FX Limited Edition looks like he’s been crammed into an Imperial Stormtrooper uniform.

Nerdy Star Wars moment over.

Japanese luxury brand Infiniti (to Nissan as Lexus is to Toyota) is not well known for its special editions, which makes this one almost as rare as a Luke Skywalker figurine from A New Hope that is still in its original packaging. (Okay, really over now.)

Just 100 FX Limited Editions are being produced for Western Europe with 18 of those confirmed for the UK.

Based on either the 235kW 3.7-litre V6 FX37S or the 287kW 5.0-litre V8 FX50S, all the enhancements are visual ones, making the Limited Edition even more of a stand out.

It comes in either Black Obsidian “Scratch Guard” or Moonlight White pearl metallic paintwork and sits on massive 21in dark graphite “Turbine” alloys. The radiator grille, side air vents and roof rails are similarly coordinated.

Inside, leather and alacantra replace lesser materials while carbon fibre is used extensively on the dashboard, centre console and door panels in place of the standard wood.

Other comfort features include the fully integrated navigation, communication and entertainment system with 11 Bose speakers, Michelin Guide, iPod connectivity and a 10GB music drive with Gracenotes database.

Each Infiniti FX Limited Edition is individually numbered and pricing starts from £55,855 (AUD$99,955) for the FX37S and £62,035 ($111,015) for the FX50S.
