2017 Skoda Superb recalled for seatbelt fix

Skoda has issued a recall for seven of its 2017 model-year Superb medium cars over concerns the seatbelt tensioner may not deploy in an accident.

The Czech manufacturer reports the condition could be caused by variations in the mixture of the ratio of the tensioner's propellant.

If the belt tensioners are not deployed correctly in an accident, occupants could be at higher risk of injury.

A VIN list for the affected vehicles can be viewed here.

Owners of the recalled Superb models will be contacted by Skoda Australia via mail, and will be advised of how to arrange an inspection and repair.
