Shelby American marks 45th anniversary with new GT350 Mustang

Shelby American is commemorating the 45th anniversary of the legendary Shelby GT350 Mustang with a new version, designed around Ford's new 5.0-litre V8 (to be featured in the upcoming 2011 Mustang range).

For the cost of a new Mustang - plus an additional US$33,995 - the team at Shelby American will deliver you a modernised GT350 featuring the trademark white paint and blue racing stripes. The new GT350 also includes exclusive badging, revised front and rear fascias, plus functional hood and rocker panel scoops.

Under the bonnet the GT350 develops 373kW thanks to the new supercharged 5.0-litre and is mated exclusively to a six-speed manual gearbox.

The Ford Racing parts catalog also provides springs, struts, sway bars and caster/camber plates to upgrade the suspension. Shelby American also fits the car with Baer brakes for greater stopping power, and the Goodyear tyres roll on 19-inch Cragar wheels.

Inside the driver's A-pillar gains gauges for fuel pressure, oil pressure and boost.

Ford begins building the 2011 Mustang in the northern Spring. American customers can have their car drop-shipped from the factory to the Las Vegas facility for upfitting.
