Renault Zoe e-Sport concept unveiled in Geneva
The Renault Zoe e-Sport sports car concept has been unveiled at the 2017 Geneva motor show.
Although the design is clearly related to the showroom-spec Zoe, the e-Sport has a tubular steel chassis used by Renault Sport for hill climb and ice races, and its exterior body panels are crafted from carbon-fibre.
Compared to the road-going Zoe, the e-Sport also has a wider front and rear track, a subtly aggressive body kit, deleted door handles, and race car-style wing mirrors.
Thanks to its lightweight body, the Zoe e-Sport is said to weigh just 1400 kilograms, and that includes its hefty 450kg battery pack.
The Zoe e-Sport rides on 20-inch alloy wheels with slick 245/35 tyres, double wishbone suspension at both ends, and Ohlins four-way adjustable dampers. Stopping power comes courtesy of an AP Racing braking package.
Powering the e-Sport are two identical electric motors, one for each axle. Feeding the motors are two battery packs, one for each engine, with a total capacity of 40kWh.
With a total of 340kW of power and 640Nm of torque at its disposal, the Zoe e-Sport can sprint from 0-100km/h in 3.2 seconds. Maximum speed is capped at 210km/h, a limit the Zoe e-Sport can reach within 10 seconds.
The Zoe e-Sport is said to feature an FIA-compliant integrated tubular steel roll cage and two Recaro bucket seats.
Renderings of the interior show that the e-Sport's interior, if it exists, bears little to no resemblance to the one used by the production vehicle.
