2017 Fiat Ducato recalled for camshaft fix

Fiat has issued a recall for 56 of its 2016 and 2017 Ducato vans fitted with the 2.3-litre 'Multijet' engine over concerns the camshaft could crack.

The Italian company reports the camshaft could crack while the vehicle is in use due to a manufacturing fault.

If the conditions occurs, the vehicle could stop suddenly, posing a safety risk for occupants of the vehicle and other road users.

The recalled Ducatos were produced from December 2016 through January 2017.

Owners of the affected vans will be contacted by mail, and are encouraged to present their vehicle to a local dealer for the inspection and replacement of the camshaft.
