2017 Mazda 2 update revealed in leaked brochure

Revised range to launch locally in April

The updated Mazda 2 hatchback has been revealed in leaked images of a Japanese brochure this week, ahead of its local launch next month.

Posted online by CarDrive, the images show that this facelift will be relatively minor, with the major changes reserved for the interior and under the skin.

Outside, the new Mazda 2 looks almost identical to the car currently on sale, though it appears it picks up a new silver trim around the fog-light surrounds and revised side mirrors with a thin LED indicator strip like the larger Mazda 3.

It's on the inside where the most obvious changes have been made, with the new 2 picking up the steering wheel design seen in the MX-5, CX-9 and facelifted Mazda 3 range, while new seat trims will also be offered - including a quilted brown that the company has called 'Demio Tailored Brown'.

CarDrive adds the updated 2 will gain new exterior paint options including the Machine Grey that debuted with the CX-9 and MX-5 RF, along with the addition of the company's G-Vectoring Control (GVC) system.

Expect more details of the updated 2 to be revealed closer to launch.
