Mercedes-AMG GT C, C63, C43 limited editions revealed for 50th anniversary

At least five Mercedes-AMG limited edition models will be on display at the 2017 Geneva motor show, as AMG kicks its 50th birthday celebrations up a gear.

Mercedes-AMG GT C Edition 50 Roadster

The GT C Edition 50 Roadster follows on from the GT C Edition 50 coupe that was unveiled alongside the GT C coupe at this year's Detroit motor show.

The Edition 50 Roadster and coupe have two exclusive paint jobs: Graphite Grey Magno and Cashmere White Magno. Other unique fittings include a silver-on-black interior, Edition 50 motifs throughout the cabin, and carbon black finishes for the grille, aero kit, forged alloy wheels, shift pedals and steering wheel spokes.

Under the bonnet, the GT C Edition 50 Roadster is powered by AMG's 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. For this vehicle, it cranks out 410kW of power between 5750 and 6750rpm, and 680Nm of torque between 1900 and 5750rpm.

Drive goes to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Just 500 GT C Edition 50 Roadsters will be built.

Mercedes-AMG C63 and C63 S Ocean Blue Edition cabriolet

Made to appeal to a "design-oriented and fashion-conscious target group", just 150 Ocean Blue Edition convertibles will be made available across the world.

Each one of those cars is available in either white or grey paint, and will be fitted with deep ocean blue finishing for the fabric soft-top, front and rear trim strips, interior stitching, and hub cap surrounds.

The Ocean Blue Edition rides on 19-inch forged alloy wheels up front, and 20-inch rims at the rear. The interior features diamond quilting, matte silver glass-fibre trim pieces, Airscarf neck heaters, and a steering wheel taken from the AMG S63.

As with other C63 and C63 S models, the Ocean Blue Edition cabriolet is fitted with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 making 350kW/650Nm in the standard model, and 375kW/700Nm in the S variant. Both versions send drive to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automatic.

Mercedes-AMG C43 Night Edition coupe and cabriolet

Rounding out the AMG section of the Mercedes-Benz stand, for now, are the C43 Night Edition coupe and cabrio. These cars feature matte black 19-inch alloy wheels, and black grille and aero kit.

On the inside, there's a flat bottomed 'performance' steering wheel covered in a mixture of Nappa leather and micro-fibre.

Both the coupe and convertible are powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 with 270kW of power between 5500 and 6000rpm, and 520Nm of torque between 2000 and 4200rpm. Drive goes to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission.

But wait, there's more...

A report earlier this week claimed that the AMG division will also unveil a new five-door concept car at the Geneva show. To be known as the AMG GT4, the concept is said to be styled like a longer, more spacious, and more practical version of the GT coupe.

The concept is believed to preview a new production car that will take on the Porsche Panamera, amongst others.
