Italdesign’s first limited edition supercar revealed

The first car to be built under the Italdesign Automobili Speciali brand has been unveiled, although the Italian design house has yet to reveal the vehicle's name.

Said to be built on a modular carbon-fibre and aluminium chassis, this car is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10.

Although power and torque figures have yet to be announced, Italdesign says that the carbon-fibre-bodied car is capable of sprinting from 0-100km/h in 3.2 seconds, and hitting a top speed over 330km/h.

Given that the design consultancy is owned by Audi and Lamborghini, it's not hard to imagine that this vehicle is closely related to the Audi R8 and Lamborghini Huracan.

In fact, both the Audi R8 V10 Plus and Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 have a 449kW/560Nm 5.2-litre V10, and are capable of running from 0-100km/h in 3.2 seconds.

Italdesign says that its ultra-low production run supercar is 4847mm long, 1970mm wide, and stands 1204mm tall, meaning that this vehicle is slightly wider and taller than both the R8 and Huracan, but is more the 400mm longer than either of those vehicles.

The production run for the first Italdesign Automobili Speciali vehicle is limited to just five vehicles, with the company expecting all five to built by the end of the year.

All five cars will be built at the company's factory in Moncalieri, Turin, with customers able to customise the vehicle's finishing and performance attributes.
