2017 Nissan Pathfinder pricing and specs

New look, active safety and more power for seven-seat SUV, here in March

The facelifted 2017 Nissan Pathfinder will arrive in Australian showrooms this March, with more power, more technology and a new look.

Starting from $41,990 before on-road costs, the new Pathfinder picks up a revised version of its 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine, which now pumps out 202kW of power and 340Nm of torque - up 12kW and 15Nm respectively - and maintains its 2700kg tow rating.

Despite the power bump, Nissan claims the new engine is slightly more efficient, claiming 9.9L/100km for front-wheel drive models, and 10.1L/100km for all-wheel driven versions (down from 10.0L and 10.3L).

Also available across the range is the hybrid drivetrain, consisting of a 2.5-litre supercharged petrol engine coupled to a 15kW electric motor, pumping out combined outputs of 188kW and 330Nm of torque. Claimed fuel consumption for the hybrid is 8.6L/100km combined.

Other headlining features as part of the facelift is the introduction of active safety systems including autonomous emergency braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control, rear cross traffic alert and a surround camera system on ST-L and TI models.

Standard equipment on the entry-level ST grade include seven seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat with manual lumbar support, cruise control, LED daytime-lights, tri-zone climate control, keyless start, rear-view camera with dynamic guidelines, rear parking sensors, 8.0-inch colour touchscreen infotainment system, two USB ports, tyre pressure monitor, power folding mirrors and privacy glass.

Stepping up to the mid-tier ST-L (from $53,690) adds heated mirrors, front fog lights, panoramic glass roof with a front sunroof, power lumbar support for the driver, four-way adjustable front passenger seat, heated front seats, leather trim (black or ivory), 13-speaker Bose audio system, satellite navigation with traffic monitoring, Around-View surround camera system with moving object detection, adaptive cruise control, rear cross traffic alert, autonomous emergency braking with forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror.

Finally, the flagship TI (from $62,190) gains 20-inch alloy wheels, an automatic tailgate, LED headlights with auto levelling, memory function for the driver's seat, remote engine start, heated and cooled front seats, rear entertainment system with dual screens and wireless headphones, along with automatic reverse tilt-down side mirrors.

Prices remain the same across the line-up with the exception of the two-wheel drive V6 ST, which rises $500 from the outgoing model.

The updated 2017 Nissan Pathfinder range goes on sale in March.
