2017 Holden Commodore pricing and specs: Final run of locally-made range now on sale

Pricing and specifications for the 2017 Holden Commodore range have been announced this week, the final update to the Australian-made range before local production ends in October.

For the new year Holden has upgraded just about every variant with extra equipment, bar the entry-level Evoke, which starts at $33,490 plus on-road costs for the ute and $35,490 for the sedan.

However, a six-speed automatic transmission is fitted as standard to all V6-powered models, with the six-speed manual reserved for V8 sports sedans and utes.

The 2017 update has also seen the SS-V and Calais Sportwagon variants dropped from the range.

New to the Calais grade (from $42,540) is satellite navigation as standard equipment, while the Calais V (from $48,750) gets a new 19-inch alloy wheel finish, electrochromatic rear-view mirror, jet black interior, 'Calais' lettering on the rear doors, 'V' sill plates, along with an SS-V Redline steering wheel trimmed in perforated leather.

The SV6, which starts at $37,190 for the ute and $40,490 for the sedan, gains satellite navigation, a head-up display, and black-accented 18-inch alloy wheels.

V8-powered SS models ($43,990 ute, $47,490 sedan) also pick up navigation and a head-up display, along with new 19-inch alloy wheels.

Stepping up to the SS-V Redline ($52,490 ute, $54,990 sedan) sees the addition of black highlights for the grille, fender vents, mirror caps and daytime-running light surrounds, a black lip spoiler (sedan only), 'V' sill plates, 'Jade Black' appliques on the instrument panel and steering wheel, along with a black sports bar (ute only).

Finally, the long-wheelbase Caprice V ($61,490) gains the SS-V Redline's perforated leather steering wheel.

Three new colours are also available for the 2017 Commodore range; Light My Fire (orange), Spitfire Green, and Son of a Gun Grey - each attracting a $550 premium.

Carryover hues include Heron White (solid), Phantom Black (premium), Nitrate Silver (premium), Red Hot, Regal Peacock Green (premium) and Slipstream Blue (premium).

The 2017 Holden Commodore range will be the final run of the locally-produced sedan, wagon and ute range, before the European-sourced 2018 Commodore arrives next year - which the company says will have a heavy focus on technology.
