NanoFlowcell Quant 48Volt:: 300km/h electric sports car set for Geneva reveal

Electric vehicle company NanoFlowcell has teased its latest sports car, the Quant 48Volt, ahead of its debut at this year's Geneva motor show in March.

Powered by the world's first variably-controllable mobile flow cell, and four low-voltage electric motors, the Quant 48Volt claims some impressive performance figures.

NanoFlowcell claims around 760hp (567kW) from four 140kW electric motors (where the extra 7kW comes from we aren't sure), 0-100km/h in just 2.4 seconds, and a limited top speed of 300km/h.

Despite its performance potential, the Quant 48Volt has a claimed driving range of over 1000km.

Unlike conventional fuel-cell vehicles, which normally run on compressed hydrogen, NanoFlowcell's flow-cell technology is fuelled by an electrolyte liquid called 'bi-ION', which the company says is non-toxic, non-flammable and "environmentally compatible".

Additionally, NanoFlowcell claims bi-ION is able to be manufactured on an industrial scale for around 10 cents per litre.

With this technology the vehicles are able to produce a low voltage and high current.

At last year's Geneva motor show NanoFlowcell revealed the Quantino (above), a road-legal mid-size sports car that is capable of sprinting from 0-100km/h in under five seconds on its way to a top speed of 200km/h, along with a driving range in excess of 1000km.

Stay tuned for our coverage of the 2017 Geneva motor show in the coming months.
