Nissan Pathfinder recalled for fuel tank replacement

Nissan has recalled a number of its current-generation R52 Pathfinder SUVs, over concerns the fuel tank could rupture.

The recall centres on the fuel tank wall thickness, which may be "below the design specification".

In the event of a crash, a fuel leakage could occur more easily than intended.

Nissan has confirmed that 89 vehicles are affected, falling into the VIN range 5N1AR2M**FC724615 to 5N1AR2M**FC724817.

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted once parts availability is confirmed, for replacement of both the fuel tank and fuel gauge packing. The works will be carried out at no cost to the owner.
