Under the bonnet, the new Continental Supersports model has a version of the company's 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 engine, which has been tuned to deliver 522kW of power at 6000rpm, and 1017Nm between 2050 and 4500rpm.
Drive is delivered to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission and a torque vectoring system developed from the one used in the GT3-R. The all-wheel drive system comes with a default 40:60 front-to-rear bias.
According to Bentley, the Supersports coupe is able to sprint from 0-100km/h in 3.5 seconds, while the convertible requires a full 3.9 seconds. Top speed is said to be 336km/h in the coupe, and 330km/h in the convertible.
The 2009 Continental Supersports wrung a mere 463kW/800Nm from the motor, and required an extra 0.3 seconds to hit 100km/h.
Braking power comes from a set of standard carbon ceramic brakes, which are said to be "largest of their type in the world". To reduce weight, the Continental Supersports rides on 21-inch forged alloy wheels, and there's an optional lightweight titanium exhaust system.
Visually, the Supersports is distinguished from lesser Continental models by its more aggressive front and rear bumpers, carbon-fibre front splitter and rear diffuser, wider sills, bonnet vents, gloss black highlights, rifled exhaust tips, and dark tinting for the headlamps and tail-lights.
Buyers can also specify a prominent front and rear spoiler combination, Supersports badging, side decals, a carbon-fibre engine cover, and a machined finish for the 21-inch wheels.
There's also an X Specification pack which includes a number of two-tone paint finishes, gloss black 21-inch wheels, and carbon-fibre wing mirror caps, heel plates and interior trim.
