Subaru BRZ STI Sport concept revealed

It isn't perhaps the STI version of the Subaru BRZ that we've all longed for - instead, or more correctly again, the automotive world will be treated to another stylised concept version of the two-door coupe: the Subaru BRZ STI Sport concept.

The Japanese brand has released limited information about what the Subaru BRZ STI Sport concept will bring to the table, though a cryptic release states the STI Sport will "deliver STI-tuned driving performance as well as exclusive exterior and interior parts with high quality feel".

The dolled-up version of the BRZ will make its debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon early in 2017, likely bringing with it enhancements to its braking system, suspension and steering tune. Unlike the previous powered-up BRZ concept model - the 2015 Subaru BRZ Performance concept - the new version has a subtle body kit, including a slimline lower lip at the front and new side-skirts. There are STI badges, too, while the interior will apparently see new dark red trim.

The BRZ STI Sport will be joined by the Subaru Levorg STI Sport - which saw the addition of adjustable Bilstein dampers, firmer springs and tweaked steering - and the Subaru WRX S4 STI Sport concept, which will likely see the same changes.

What could it all mean for buyers? Well, perhaps there'll be an STI Line package for the models in Subaru's range that buyers want a bit of extra sporty styling? We'll see. Stay tuned for more.
