Hyundai to showcase high-tech house, wearable robot tech at CES

The company says it is showcasing a vision for future mobility at the tech show early in January, with a focus on "intelligent autonomous driving and advanced, hyper-connectivity solutions that will link cars to customer’s lives".

The Ioniq autonomous cars may prowl the streets outside CES but there'll also be virtual reality simulators at the company's stand. It is expected that the Ioniq Hybrid model on show inside will bring new developments, too, with Hyundai claiming the show car "will reveal enhancements to further its reputation as one of the world’s most fuel efficient cars".

The company is also expected to show off a new electric scooter "Micro Mobility" concept that is part of an Ioniq Electric model, and it is said to "showcase the future of first- and last-mile mobility". Or you could walk...

But if you struggle to walk, the Korean company's wearable exoskeletons offering "customers who require physical support for lifting or repetitive work, plus assisting members of society whose mobility is restricted". There'll also be a Healthcare Cockpit on display, which is supposed to connect the car and its driver "to boost productivity or relaxation while travelling".

As for the Hyundai house? It is said to show the brand's "hyper-connected car platform, developed with leading global IT company Cisco, will be central to making tomorrow’s lifestyles even more convenient" by using "Smart House and Connected Car technologies will blur the lines between mobility, and living and working spaces". We'll have to get back to you on how it'll do that, because there's not much info yet.
