2017 Skoda Octavia Scout facelift unveiled

The facelifted Skoda Octavia Scout has been revealed a day after the RS performance variant made its debut.

Like the just unveiled RS models and the rest of the revised Octavia range, the Scout features tweaked bumpers, LED tail-lights and, most controversially, an updated front end design with a new bonnet and a grille that incorporates auxiliary headlight units.

As before, the Scout features wheel arch extensions, off-roader styling, and suspension that's 30mm taller than on the regular wagon models.

Also fitted as standard are plastic covers for the undercarriage, and the brake and fuel lines, as well as an all-wheel drive system that incorporates an electronic differential lock on both the front and rear axles.

According to Skoda, the ramp angles for the revised Scout have been improved to 16.6 degrees at the front, and 14.5 degrees at the rear.

The updated Octavia Scout is available in Europe with the choice of three engines: a 132kW 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol mill, and 110kW and 135kW variants of the Volkswagen Group's 2.0-litre turbo-diesel.

In Australia, the pre-facelift Octavia Scout is only available with the 132kW 1.8-litre petrol, and 110kW 2.0-litre TDI.

Available technology on the updated Scout includes adaptive LED headlights, a capacitive 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, satellite navigation, Wi-Fi hotspot, 4G LTE connectivity, trailer assistance, blind spot monitoring, parking assist, and city emergency braking.
