2017 Mazda CX-5 and CX-3 sport their Custom Style in Tokyo

The soon-to-be released 2017 Mazda CX-5  and strong-selling Mazda CX-3 have been given light sporty makeovers for next month's Tokyo Auto Salon.

Following the pair of MX-5 concepts revealed this week, the two SUVs have been given the 'Custom Style' treatment, which adds a subtle body kit and larger alloy wheels to give a sporty and premium look.

Revealed only a month ago, the new-generation CX-5 was already quite the looker, but this Custom Style version adds a small lip on the front bumper, side skirts, a more aggressive rear bumper and 20-inch alloy wheels - similar to those used on top-spec versions of the larger CX-9.

The CX-5 Custom Style also features height-adjustable suspension, black-painted brake calipers, aluminium pedals, illuminated door sill plates and special floor mats.

Still no 2.5-litre turbo engine in sight, though...

Debuting alongside its bigger brother is the CX-3 Custom Style, which benefits from similar styling tweaks.

Featuring a sporty bodykit, black brake calipers and the same interior additions as its larger sibling, the CX-3 Custom Style also rolls on new alloy wheels (though the size is unknown).
