2014 Ssangyong Stavic recalled for front shock absorber fix

According to the notice issued this week, affected vehicles could have shock absorbers that become damaged if driven in specific "extreme" conditions for extended periods of time.

Extreme conditions, according to the brand's local distributor, can include overloading the vehicle or driving on rough, unsealed roads for extended periods of time.

If the fault occurs, drivers could experience a loss of vehicle control, posing a hazard to the driver and other road users.

Recalled Stavic people movers were sold from 1 May 2014 through 1 December 2014. A VIN list for the affected units can be viewed here.

Owners of these vehicles will be contacted directly via mail, and are encouraged to contact their local Ssangyong dealer to arrange for the inspection and repair of their Stavic. There have been no reported cases of the issue in Australia.
