2017 Volkswagen Tiguan recalled for front seat fix

The 2017 model-year Volkswagen Tiguan has been recalled over concerns the front seat backrests may be faulty, with 707 vehicles affected.

According to the notice issued by the German manufacturer, the laser-welded seam on the front seatbacks may not have been configured correctly during production, which may impact on the connection strength.

If the condition occurs, Volkswagen says the seats could cause an injury in the event of a serious rear-end collision.

A VIN list for the recalled vehicles can be viewed here.

Owners of affected Tiguans will be contacted via mail, and are encouraged to contact their local dealer to arrange for inspection and repair.
