Genesis appoints Bugatti Chiron creator as chief designer
Hyundai's new luxury sub-brand, Genesis, has hired former Bugatti designer Alexander Selipanov as its chief designer at the Global Genesis Advanced Studio in Europe.
Selipanov, also known as Sasha, is responsible for the exterior design of the stunning Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo concept, and more recently the Bugatti Chiron hypercar.
He has also contributed to numerous design projects across the Volkswagen Group, including the Lamborghini Huracan project in 2010.

"I am honored to join this exciting journey, as it is a very rare chance to launch a luxury automotive brand and be part of its history," said Selipanov.
"With growing expectations and curiosity around Genesis, I cannot wait to contribute my expertise and passion to the brand."
Selipanov will commence his career with Genesis in January 2017, and will report directly to Luc Donckerwolke, the company's head of design.
This latest announcement comes after Genesis recruited SangYup Lee, former head of exterior and advanced design for Bentley, as the Korean brand's vice president of styling.
Genesis's head of design, Luc Donckerwolke, is also a former Bentley designer.
It seems with the recruitment of top names in design that Genesis is taking the styling of its future vehicles very seriously, and if the recent designs from both Bentley and Bugatti are anything to go by, the Korean brand could have some beautiful vehicles in the works.
