Ford production line at stand still

In it’s fifth business day of strike action, Venture employees struggling for their entitlements have left Ford workers in limbo.

As CarAdvice reported on Friday, the blue oval has suspended production line jobs without pay until such time as Venture can begin re-supplying crucial plastic components to their Broadmeadows and Geelong production lines.

Ford has already lost three and a half production days at an estimated cost to the manufacturer of $35M.

VACC Senior Manager David Russell states that if the strike is to continue, Ford sales could also suffer.

The total number of Ford employees now stood down without pay is 1,850. As always, CarAdvice will keep you posted with any developments.
