CarAdvice spoke with Kodiaq Program Manager, Jiri Dytrych, at the International launch of the Kodiaq in Spain, who indicated that a more sports-oriented model would be a likely addition to the range.
"If we are coming with RS, then it will only be with one engine, and it will be on top of the range. And it will have really big possibilities," said Dytrych.

This will place the Kodiaq RS above the current high-specification Style trim grade, and the just announced SportLine model.
When queried as to which engine would power the RS, Mr Dytrych said: "It has to be the bi-turbo diesel engine (BiTDI). We have for this platform a 2.0-litre TDI with 177kW."
This engine tune currently features in the Volkswagen Passat (although not in Australia), offering 177kW at 4000 rpm and a solid 500Nm of torque from 1750 to 2500 rpm.
It is currently the most powerful 2.0-litre diesel engine on the market.
The Kodiaq launches in Australia in mid-2017 with a 132kW/350Nm turbocharged 2-litre petrol engine and a 140kW/400Nm 2-litre turbo diesel. All models will feature all-wheel drive and a seven-speed DSG gearbox.
